Established in 1980 by a small group of passionate and innovative students, the Virginia Environmental Law Journal ("VELJ") is one of the oldest journals at the University of Virginia School of Law. Today, VELJ is considered one of the world's top ten legal publications for environmental law (W&L). The Journal provides a forum for discussion of current environmental issues related to energy, natural resources, regulatory, administrative, conservation, risk management, environmental justice, food systems, and land use law and policy. Viewing environmental law broadly, the Journal remains open to all perspectives and strives to maintain the highest level of academic integrity.
