Aim & Scope
Katherine Mansfield Studies is the official journal of the Katherine Mansfield Society, which was launched in January 2009. Katherine Mansfield is both a colonial and a metropolitan writer. This makes her of interest to scholars of modernist literature with an interest in the degree to which the origins of international modernism derive from outside Europe. The journal thus offers opportunities for collaboration between researchers with interests in modernism in literature and the arts and in (post) colonial studies. Mansfield has inspired successors from Elizabeth Bowen to Ali Smith, as well as numerous artists in other media. The journal encourages interdisciplinary scholarship and also allows for a proportion of creative submissions in every issue.
