Aim & Scope
Perkin Transactions 1 is internationally acclaimed as one of the most important primary journals covering organic and bioorganic chemistry. It enjoys a substantial world-wide readership among workers in the field. The journal covers all aspects of organic and bioorganic chemistry, including synthetic organic chemistry of all types, organometallic chemistry, chemistry and biosynthesis of natural products, the relationship between molecular structure and biological activity, the chemistry of polymers and biological macromolecules, and medicinal and agricultural chemistry where there is originality in the science. Solution or solid phase synthesis is welcomed, as are combinatorial approaches to organic synthesis. Full papers are generally published within 110 days of receipt. Perkin Transactions 1 also publishes Communications, for urgent publication of preliminary accounts of novel and significant work of exceptional interest, in any branch of organic or bioorganic chemistry. Communications are short and publication is rapid, providing information on new avenues of research in the shortest possible time. Publication times are typically 60 days from receipt of manuscripts. Each issue of Perkin Transactions 1 contains a review on a particular field of research, critically overviewing recent advances in that area. Contributions will normally be commissioned by an appointed member of the Editorial Board, but the Board welcomes proposals for reviews. In such cases we request that authors submit a synopsis of the review to the Editorial Office for consideration by the Board. Abstract guides to recent developments in specific fields are also published in each issue. At present guides to Natural Product Synthesis and Biocatalysis in Organic Synthesis alternate with Solid-Phase Organic Synthesis; more topics will be added in future. [1]
