Aim & Scope

Since 2009, HeLix has been offering the forum for a critical and open dialogue as a literary and cultural scientific journal. The central concern is the presentation of new research approaches and topics. As one of the few literary-scientific online journals in Germany, HeLix offers the opportunity to contribute to the international networking of Romance languages ​​with the presentation of philological and cultural research results. HeLix sets itself the goal of making the dynamics of Romanist research visible in a timely manner, and is therefore more than just the online version of a print edition. From Volume 5 (2012), HeLix will be published with a dossier that maps a current field of Romance studies, and will present contributions to the respective topic of the subject. HeLix publishes essays, reviews, interviews and literary translations with philological commentary. The focus here is on the topic of the respective dossier; In addition, other, independent contributions can be included. The selection of the contributions is based on a transparent peer review process: each submitted entry is reviewed by the editors and forwarded to a qualified expert of our international network, whose expert report is aimed at constructive suggestions for improvement of the contribution. Absolute confidentiality is guaranteed for both author and reviewer. The editorial staff offers a lecturer's supervision of the article if the report is positive. HeLix publishes articles in German, English and Romance languages. ^[1]
