Aim & Scope
Discontinued with Volume 7 (2000). Current Issues in Language & Society offers a concept which differs from traditional journals, starting with the conviction that the classic format of the conference paper does not always promote debate in which protagonists may develop their analyses. However, where there is time and space to challenge, to disagree and to synthesise, there may well be a more creative outcome. The Aston Symposia allow an invited audience of experts in a subject area a full day for the consideration and constructive criticism of an invited discussion paper. The journal captures the flavour of the day's debates, which are reported in depth, as well as giving a wider audience the opportunity to read the formal paper. Readership: Postgraduate students and researchers interested in sociolinguistics, citizenship, immigration and emigration and the education of ethnic minorities. [1]
