Aim & Scope

Gustave Glotz (1862-1935) was a French historian of Ancient Greece. His name was given to to the eponymous Center, a group of researchers under the auspices of the Institut national d’histoire de l’art, the CNRS, and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. The Centre Gustave Glotz reports on its research particularly in the Cahiers du Centre Gustave Glotz. The first volume, published in 1990 by Droz, Geneva, was a collection of contributions dedicated to the theme of “Power in Antiquity”, edited by Claude Nicolet, who served on the editorial board of the Cahiers until his death in 2010. As of the following year, the Cahiers become an annual journal published by Editions de Boccard. ^[1]
